How Chats Work

When a child presses Start Chat, their voice or text is sent to OpenAI to generate a helpful response. This is required for the chat to function.

  • Processor: OpenAI processes the chat input and returns an answer for the child.
  • No personal info needed: KiddieChat does not require or request personal details to use the chat. Please encourage children not to share personal information during chats.

We design KiddieChat to minimize data exposure by not collecting personal information. If any temporary technical logs are generated to keep the service running, they are not used to identify anyone and are routinely cleared.

International Processing

Because OpenAI provides the chat responses, chat inputs may be processed on servers located outside your country, depending on OpenAI’s infrastructure.
